This important restoration project is a great way to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day! We will be planting native trees in the Dickey Ridge Picnic Grounds area (milepost 4.6). The work may include planting, cage building, cage tagging, data collecting, and transporting trees from the truck to the field.
Certain areas may be brushy and thick, so wear clothes that will keep you protected and are well-suited to the weather. Sturdy shoes or boots are required. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, water, lunch (we will take a 30-minute lunch break), and anything else that you may need for the day. We will provide all the tools and equipment, including gloves. We will be near the Dickey Ridge Visitors Center; there is plenty of parking and restroom access. Feel free to stay as long or short a time as your schedule allows. Every moment is appreciated! Please RSVP to email@example.com by 5pm on April 22nd for meeting location and potential ride share opportunities.
