Communications Coordinator

The Trust is hiring a Communications Coordinator through the AmeriCorps program. This position will work directly with our fundraising staff and Executive Director to develop a suite of communications pieces highlighting our programs, including our youth programs for underserved communities. These communiques will be used to promote and raise funds for our programs, so that we can offer free programming to more youth, conserve more acres of native habitat, advance scientific understanding of our 200,000 acres and ensure that Shenandoah remains a crown jewel of the national park system for generations to come. The suite of communications will consist of materials for donors as well as materials for the general public that we will disseminate for awareness raising. Additionally, our VISTA member will serve as liaison between the Trust and youth organizations with whom we partner, including Boys and Girls Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters. In this capacity, s/he will identify opportunities to refine the youth programs so that they best meet the children’s needs. S/he will also ensure that additional organizations that express interest in our programs are put in contact with the national park’s Youth and Volunteer Coordinator.
