Shenandoah in Your Classroom
Shenandoah National Park is a spectacular “living classroom,” used by thousands of schoolchildren and their teachers every year. However, as school budgets and associated field trip budgets are cut, many students will not have the opportunity to get to the park. To counter this, the Shenandoah National Park Trust is enabling our park to develop an elementary school curriculum highlighting the remarkable features in the park. The program will be taught in area classrooms by Shenandoah National Park Rangers. The curriculum is being field tested now and will be offered starting in 2014.
