Shenandoah National Park Trust | Virginia License Plate



We Did It! In June 2009, Shenandoah National Park Trust launched a license plate campaign to generate an ongoing funding stream for Shenandoah National Park. We are very pleased to report that we sold 400 sets of plates by the deadline required by the authorizing legislation, triggering DMV’s review and production process. These 400 sets of plates will be delivered in 9-10 months. Once these first 400 sets are delivered, the Shenandoah plates will become available to all Virginians through DMV. At that point, our next goal is to reach 1,000. After 1,000 sets of plates are sold (including our initial 400), each renewal and additional set sold will generate $15 to support Shenandoah. Numerous national parks are receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars annually from their partner groups’ license plate programs. We look forward to building our program to reap similar results for Shenandoah. You can begin checking the Virginia DMV website in early 2010 to see if the Shenandoah National Park license plates are available state-wide. Thanks for your support!
