Your support for the Shenandoah National Park Trust will allow Shenandoah National Park to welcome its second Artist-in-Residence for the summer season this month.
New Jersey-based Duane Polcou is a black and white fine art photographer who works primarily in 4×5 and digital film. He specializes in natural landscapes and throughout his career has photographed the Adirondack Mountains, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Sierra Nevadas, Yosemite and the New Jersey coastline. He is known in the industry not only as an expert, but a great teacher. As a regular host of a photography podcast called “The Film Photography Project,” Duane and other film photography experts received rave reviews not only their for their knowledge of the medium, but for being “fabulous guys who couldn’t be better teachers to work with.” Find the archived podcasts at: https://filmphotographyproject.com/tag/duane-polcou/.
He will be taking photos in the park from August 8 through August 19, 2017. Interested in learning more about nature and landscape photography from someone with a known ? Duane will host a public program (suitable for all ages) on Saturday, August 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Byrd Visitor Center (mile 51 on Skyline Drive).
