We’re sending kids to camp!

Thanks to generous funding from the Ohrstrom Foundation, Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge and BAMA Works, the Trust is supporting four weeks of service learning summer camps in Shenandoah National Park this summer. These week-long overnight camps provide transformational experiences for underserved youth. These teens hike, play, cook over an open fire, and learn about their national park from Park Rangers. They also undertake volunteer work, such as clearing out illegal backcountry campsites. We are proud to be able to offer this experience to tomorrow’s national park stewards.
