Featured Hike: Wildcat Ridge/ Riprap Hollow – Sunday, October 20

9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Meat at Riprap Hollow trailhead, mp 90
Hiker’s choice: 7 or 9.75 miles

Wild Virgina and the Shenandoah National Park Trust invite you to experience true wilderness on this strenuous-but-wonderful trek (2,000-foot elevation gain). We’ll traipse alongside Meadow Run and soak in Shenandoah’s fall colors from Calvalry Rocks and Chimney Rock.

We’ll meet at the Riprap Hollow trailhead and then carpool to the Wildcat Ridge trailhead to begin the hike. Hikers opting for the 7 mile route will end at the Riprap Hollow trailhead. Hikers who choose the 9.75 mile option will return to the Wildcat Ridge trailhead via the Appalachian Trail.

Please bring lunch, snacks, water and come prepared for varying temperatures and possible precipitation. There will be several stream crossings. Our feet might get wet if the water is high. Hiking poles and dry socks are recommended. Bette Dzamba and David Sellers of Wild Virginia are our hike guides.

This outing is limited to 20 participants. RSVP is required. Please register here to reserve your spot.
