Janet Eden moved to Virginia from Florida to be near Shenandoah National Park, and since she arrived she’s been working to make it a better place for all of us. She’s one of our most committed volunteers. And, though not particularly wealthy, she looks to contribute what she can in ways that encourage others to do so, as well. So when she heard that we were within $10,000 of our $50,000 goal for our Invasive Species Initiative, she pledged $5,000 and challenged the Trust to match that amount with gifts from donors of modest means. The spirit of Janet’s gift is to encourage everyone to think of themself as a philanthropist.
Will you help us meet our match—and ensure proper funding for our Park to control invasive plants and re-establish native species? Click here. You’ll make Janet, the Trust and the Park very happy.
