Superintendent Martha Bogle retires

After four years as Superintendent of Shenandoah National Park, Martha Bogle will retire next month. Martha has dedicated more than 30 years to the National Park Service, beginning as a seasonal park ranger at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She went on to assume posts in 10 other national parks, including Everglades National Park, Virgin Islands National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Martha is a stalwart advocate for these magnificent places, and although her “flat hat” will soon rest on her mantle at her home in Asheville, North Carolina, we know that she will always keep Shenandoah in her heart.
