This easy 2.2-mile hike in Shenandoah’s Central District is ideal for history buffs. The Pocosin Mission was an Episcopal mission established in 1904 for the local mountain communities. Its remains include stone steps, foundation and chimney. Julie Shuren of the Shenandoah National Park Trust will guide this family friendly hike along with Shenandoah National Park Trust board member Hullie Moore. Meet at the parking area, milepost 59.5 on the east side of Skyline Drive, at 10 am. Pack a lunch. Space is limited and RSVPs are required.
